Below you will see match reports for the teams that played this weekend along with some information about our pre-season Tournaments.
Tech 3 Vs Green Island 3
Today saw Tony’s boys open the season out at Sunnyvale taking on the young side of Green Island.
The game was back and forth and had Tech not once but twice come back from behind.
Being down on so many players from the previous years, Tony is still optimistic with the outcome of the game as it shows the strength of the new guys coming into the squad this year.
The team went away with 1 point and are looking forward to next week. Player of the day Ross Howard.
Tech 8 vs Roslyn 1
A strong start by this years experienced Fletcher cup squad saw them up 3-0 after the first 8 mins of the game. They managed to continue this score line through to the half where they came out with a much more determined approach at half time. 5 more goals were set to find the back of the net for Tech with Aaron Burgess netting a hat trick. The scoreline ending 8-1 after 90 mins. Player to the day to the young goal keeper Ben Dybuk.
Tech 6 vs Mosgiel 0
A strong Tech side traveled out to the plains of Memorial park to take on the Mosgiel team. Starting strong and sticking to the strategy saw them put away a 35 meter kick to go up 1-0, at the half time mark Tech managed to net a further 3 goals and go into the interval 4 – 0.
Going back into the last 45 Tech struggled at first to keep the conditioning alive and started to find themselves forcing the ball rather than playing football. 2 goals later had them heading away with 3 points 6 – 0.
Player of the day Elliott Gibbins.
Tech 2 vs Roslyn Chargers 2
These two teams faced off against each other again in as little as a week. Tech opened the scoring and held this right through until just before the first half ended where Roslyn equaled the score. The second half saw a similar performance with both teams battling hard. Another goal to each team saw them sharing a point each and heading home 2-2.
Player of the day Daniel Anfield.
Tech 2 vs Roslyn Originals 3
Runner ups from 2016 this Tech team were ready to take on the boys from Roslyn. This looked to be the case with Tech going into the half 2-0 up after 2 goals to Alex La Roche.
A change of direction and the wind playing a factor saw Tech stuck in their own half battling to keep the ball out of the net. Unfortunately on the day Roslyn managed to use this to their advantage and ended the game 3-2 winners.
Player of the day going to the goal scorer Alex La Roche.
Tech 1 Vs Green Island 4
The Over 45 team were at home against the lads of Green Island and unfortunately did not have the best day in the office. The team going into the half 1-0 down. The 2nd half was however the worse of the 2 and the game ended 4-1.
Player of the day David Cross.
