Premier Men

Tech 3 – University 2
Both teams giving everything they had out on the field today but first blood going to the boys in maroon with a well struck rebound from Ash Watson to go one up. The second goal again in the first half going to Tim McClennan coming up against the keeper and winning the ball outside the box and striking it nicely. 2-0 up in the first and coasting through before Caleb nets a cheeky penalty to go 3-0 up. The boys then tried to make things hard for themselves tried to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory allowing 2 goals in but managed to hold on and continue their 5 game undefeated streak. Big game next week and Player of the day Liam Watson.

Fletchers Cup
Tech 5 vs Northern 0
The Fletcher Cup boys continued their run of good results with a hard fought win against a competitive Northern side. Luke Le Brun and Houghts scored in the first half, when we had the advantage of a strong wind behind us, and we went in at half time with a 2-0 lead. The second half saw us play some of our best football of the season into the wind and we added three more goals to win 5-0. The goal scorers were Tom Houghton, Joel T-P and a 50 yard screamer from Michael Abbott. Good performances from Tom Houghton, Patrick Koppert, Al Moore and Luke. Man of the match Luke Le Brun.

Women’s White
Tech 1 – Roslyn Rogues 4

Up against the top of the table Roslyn Rogues who haven’t dropped a point all season seems daunting but the girls came out strong and put the pressure against them. Much better intensity and kept in the game thanks to the fantastic goal efforts from the goal Keeper Kat Lucas. With the score 2-0 to Roslyn at half time Tech continued the pressure and although conceding a further 2 goals this half they were able to take away one with a goal to Ingrid Swanson.
Player of the day defiantly going to Kat Lucas

Tech 1 Vs Mosgiel 0

After a 6-0 win in the first game of the season, we knew that Mosgiel would want to come at us. A hard fought contest by both teams and well referred by football south stopped the game from becoming a blood bath. Good effort by the boys with limited reserves. The most satisfactory performance by the team all season with an early struck goal by Will Bourne being the only goal of the game as we couldn’t convert the many chances given to us. Losing our winger after 11 minutes meant that the bench was almost depleted and the boys would need to push for the full 90.
Fighting for every ball and giving a 100% in a great game. Player of the day could have gone to anyone in the team due to a great performance. But went to the reserve Moose.

5ths Weasels
Tech 0 vs Chargers 5

Always a hard fought game from each team and close but today wasn’t going to do it for us. Being down 4-0 within the first quarter of the game was always going to be a big ask to come back from. Getting better in the second half the Weasels managed to hold the Chargers to only 1 more goal for the day all going to 1 player on the Chargers squad. Player of the day Dan Anfield.

Tech 1 vs Roslyn Originals

Up on the muddy pitch of Ellis 2 and looking for Revenge after giving it away in the first round. A great performance from the team and a solid spine. Putting Rosyln under pressure every time we could having solid performances from players in the middle but happy to come back and defend. Only 1 goal in the game today and that was to Roslyn, with Chopper chipping his own keeper from 40 yards out and giving the win to Tech.
Player of the day going to Graeme Smaill.

Tech 4 vs Mosgiel 3
Going up against the Mosgiel team that narrowly beat them in round one 1-0, Tech were looking to turn the tide and this is exactly what was on the cards for them. going into the half the lads were up 3-1. Getting put under some pressure in the second half the team netted a further goal but had to hold on as the game came to an end 4-3. Player of the day going to Paul Cavell
