A very warm Southern welcome to Juan and his Coastal Spirit Team, and also their band of Supporters. We have learnt very quickly that Saturday night Knock Out Cup games on the turf are indeed very special, allowing for a high standard of football to be played.
Last year we had the honour of lifting the Kate Sheppard trophy for the very first time in our Clubs history. The lift that piece of silverware has done for our Club and Women’s football in the South as a whole cannot be mentioned in words. It was hard enough winning it, let alone defending it, and clearly that’s been our aim this year.
Our season so far has been a bit disjointed with several deferred games for various reasons. We remain unbeaten this season, and I believe we are yet to hit anywhere near our peak, hoping we may get a bit closer to that in this game.
A special thanks to the people who have made the trip from out of town, and I know there are many. The girls really appreciate the support they have received from the Dunedin Technical Club and the whole of the Southern Football Community family.
Please be loud in your support for girls……………………”For it’s a grand old team”…………… UPTECH!
** The after-match function following the conclusion of the game will be held at the hockey turf bar (Harbour tce), just a 2 minute walk from game.
