Dunedin Technical Junior Football welcomes existing and new members and their families to the 2016 season. The club is looking forward to another exciting year, so on behalf of the club I would like to wish everyone the best of luck and hope you all have a very enjoyable season.
Your child must have shin pads (FIFA regulation), boots, maroon socks and white shorts. The club will provide a playing jersey.
A mouth guard is an optional piece of safety equipment parents/guardians may wish their child to use.
Midgets to 10th Grade
Children aged 5+ will be placed into a team.
We will make every endeavour to put players into the same teams that they were in last year, but in the next age grade. Any vacancies will then be filled by players new to the club. We try to keep teams together throughout their time in the junior club and therefore we cannot swap teams around according to friendships. Remember how quickly children can change friends at this age, and anyway, this is a good chance to make new friends.
Grades 11th to Youth (Competitive Grades)
Depending on the number of players registering and to accommodate players having preferred playing positions, teams may be selected by the coaches or trials may need to be held.
There is also representative football available from this level onwards so for anyone aiming for higher honours the club will support you where possible to help you try to achieve your goals.
We are always looking for coaches or assistant coaches. If anyone is interested please let us know as soon as possible as we still need coaches for some grades.
In house training is provided for anyone keen on pursuing this path.
We are very concerned that our players learn the concept of ‘Fair play’. When you are on the sideline please support your team in a positive way. Both sides should be praised for both good play and fair play. Young players in particular, need to learn about winning and losing, but more importantly about playing for enjoyment. If everyone on the sideline sets a good example, players will learn to use this on the field.
PLAYER OF THE DAY AWARDS
Our club prides itself on support from the senior part of the club, therefore we hold our junior player of the day awards every Saturday at Culling Lounge about 5.15 in the presence of the senior club members where Club Certificates and possibly a light refreshment will be presented.
While we have made a rule that fees are to be paid at the time of registration we will still accept registration of your child without payment. However if we do not receive full payment within 7 days of registration your child’s name will be withdrawn. This may sound harsh but with a large number of players and limited teams we must be fair to everyone.
It is the Club’s intention that every child has the opportunity to play.
The Club will give every consideration to requests for the sub to be paid under an arrangement where immediate payment of the full sub creates hardship or inconvenience.
Our fees for 2016:
All players must purchase boots, shin guards, socks and shorts.
Kickits – Skills course for 4 & 5 year olds $20 – Sundays at 11am at Culling Park. Happy for new people to attend.

Football South Fees
Football South has levied an additional $5 per player for 2014 season.
In view of the Club’s desire to have as many children playing football as possible the Club has decided not to pass this
cost on and will absorb the levy into the operating costs of the Club.
This situation will be reviewed each season.
We ask that parents support any fundraising that we do. There will be fundraising throughout the season, in the way of chocolate wheels and raffles etc. Any donations for prizes would be greatly appreciated, so if you can help or know anyone that could, please let us know.
As most of you are aware, it takes a lot of money to keep our club running, so we are constantly looking for sponsorship. Every year we need to update equipment, pay FootballSouth player levies, and at the end of the season purchase trophies for teams etc. If you would like to sponsor us or you have any sponsorship or other fundraising ideas, please contact us (see below for contact details).
